Some weeks ago week ago we could read about The Grid, developed by CERN. An earlier article was published in Wired.
The Grid will offer internet speed 10,000 times faster that we have today. It will start this fall and be offered commercially within 2-7 years. The potential is that it could make the Internet obsolete as we know it today.
The implications of The Grid could mean quite a different world for all of us. Could it be the end of CDs, DVDs, and BlueRays, as the content could be made available online?
